Recovery After The Overload

Posted on Mon Mar 11th, 2019 @ 9:10pm by Lieutenant Commander J'Loni Mo'Bri

Mission: Vivere aut non vivere ...
Location: CEO's Quarters
Timeline: After The Battle Begins Pt 4

Finally back in her quarters on sick leave she had time to reflect on what had happened. The worst part of it was that she remembered the entire episode. That was the only draw back to having empathic abilities like hers. It was like living in a virtual reality when this happens. Medically there was no known reason for her to have the strong empathic powers other than her mother and her mother's mother was born with her abilities turned on at birth. Something like Tam Elbram of the Groushna mission during the time of Enterprise D. That was the only thing linking this phenomenon with her. Here telepathic abilities were somewhat limited in distance but she could link with other telepaths on the ship but no farther.

Laying on the couch, listening to meditation music, she thought about how she felt when she sensed the Commanders pain. It was almost as if there were a million fire ants crawling over her skin. She had felt what he felt, the agony as the battle of nanoprobes fighting the virus ensued in his body. J'Loni trembled as she lay there, trying to maintain her mind from caving in again. Through all of that she could feel his heartbeat but her mind would not register the slowing of his heart as he was dying. All she could feel and sense was he was in pain and agony andcwhen he finally was transported aboard, it bevame to much and shorted out her brain.

Then the added emotions of the Lieutenant from security that came in did not help so J'Lonimhad to beg for a neural blocker to quiet the strong emotions finally. This is her biggest weakness, not to be overshadowed by her temper but, there are times when does interfere and she will make the excuse to head for sick bay reluctantly.

In all reality she just wanted to get back to work and look over the logs from the Clip to see if she could find a way of beefing up the Lantau's defenses.
